"Oh... I get it, that's instinct. Makes sense now. Yeah, I probably should check out my room. Thanks a bunch for all your help. And if there's little trouble here, what will you need? Is there anything I should do before I head up?" Nesmine asked, trying her best to be polite for once, though it wasn't exactly her strong suit. She gave a half smile and walked towards the stairs, waiting to hear a reply. Despite the fact that she was generally a rude, self centered character, she couldn't help but feel safe within the weapon shop. In fact, most people weren't nice to her. The man was kind almost to the point of being naive, much like the girl she met back at Liore.

"Just go make yourself comfortable. I might have something for you to do. Nothing really big but good enough to get ya started." He said putting another hammer on the wall. She was a strange one. Asking to stay here and having practically no knowledge of money. Or anything. Kinda like he felt about his past. After he replaced the hammer he went and picked up a couple knives.

"Just making sure you'll be alright." She said as she walked up the stairs, somewhat of a tired tone lingering in her voice. Nesmine couldn't help but be grateful, with the way Kotaro spoke, it was obvious that he was the one giving more in this deal. There was no way she could pay him in return upfront at the moment, he was taking her in.
"Ayee!! Why hi there!" Nesmine came running back down the stairs holding something. "I made a friend, what do you think? He's trying to stow away in my room! At list I think it's a he, I can't really tell." She said as she excitedly pushed a startled mouse in Kotaro's face, as if she was a child again. Apparently, she had never seen a mouse either.

Kotaro's eyes widened as he heard Nesmine hurry down the stairs. The moment he looked up, he was face to face with a mouse. A scared one. "Well now, that's something." He said brushing a finger against its fur. "A little mouse was in my store. Normally this would be bad." He smiled. "But this little guy looks a bit scared."

"Can I keep 'em, or is he part of your property?" Nesmine asked, with a hopeful tone. One wouldn't really be sure as to why she would want a mouse, as she hardly knew how to take care of one, perhaps the strange traveler became lonely from time to time. What ever the answer was, Nesmine deemed the mouse a perfect solution. "Oh yeah, aren't these things supposed to unsanitary or something? Where's your bathroom?" She asked, something planning behind her shining green eyes.

Kotaro thought a bit. "If you can take care of the little guy, then you can keep him. But we will need to get him some shots." He smiled. "But maybe you should hold him more carefully, he's pretty scared." He said petting it a bit. "I used to have a cat come around here. Disappeared a while ago." He chuckled. "Go upstairs to the left. Bathrooms up there." He said. "Then come down, I have something for you to do."

Nesmine seemed worried at the idea of shots, but recalled them to be painful needles, and not bullets. "Alright," she said, tightening her grasp on the small mouse and heading to the bathroom. Seconds later, the sink was turned on, and moments later she returned with a soaking wet mouse wrapped in a washcloth. "There, much better! It always surprises me what a little hand soap can do!" She said in a sing'song tune. "So what'cha got for me?" Nesmine asked with a smile, now happy with her new, clean friend.

As Nesmine went to clean the mouse, Kotaro placed the knives on the counter. 12 of them. Each one dull and dirty. When she returned he smiled. "Good to see him clean." He said petting the mouse. "Well, these knives need cleaned and sharpened. In that order. In the back is some polish and cleaning supplies. If you could clean them, that would be great. I'll teach you how to sharpen them afterwards."

Nesmine nodded, taking each of the knives, remembering their proper order, then heading to the back to grab the necessary supplies. Moments later she returned, took a seat in a corner, and began to clean and polish the knives. Although she knew little about the world, she did seem to know weapons, this job situation couldn't have gone better for the girl.
"Thanks... you know I really owe you. You're smarter than I thought you were, I guess you kinda know..." She said, attempting to compliment Koraro, but her voice seemed sour at the end. Nesmine was definitely embarrassed of her situation, and it took much of her pride to admit it, but she needed a lot of help.

Kotaro smiled and put a sword in a display case. "Think nothing of it. I'm not the type to turn down help and let a person down." He chuckled. "Smart, not really. There's a lot I don't know and a lot I'm looking for. I'm just know enough to get by." He examined the knives. "Your doing pretty well with these." He said picking one up. "Shining I can see my reflection."

"You're really too nice, you've got to be careful. But thanks! If there is one thing I know it's weapons... though I don't really know why. I've just always been good with them, unless it's a staff. I'm no good with them, I always end up hitting myself. So what are you looking for? Is it something I can help with?" Nesmine offered, trying to be helpful. If there was anything she could do to make things easier for the kind man, she was on the case. Nobody had been this helpful, not that she could remember.

"I'm not always a nice guy." He said putting down the knife. "But I try not to let that part of me show. I don't like it." He chuckled. "Staffs are my forte, I'm a master if i say so myself." He sighed. "Well, I guess there is a way." He said taking out a locket. He opened it and showed her a picture of a girl. She had long brown hair and bright green eyes. "Have you seen someone who matches her description?"

"Well, I guess it's good that you don't like to let it show, I've seen a lot of people that just don't care..." She muttered mornfully, "they care even less than me. I've got a deal for you... if you teach me to read, I'll help you find this girl. I've never seen her, but I've got a few good ideas on where to start. You see, I'm looking something too... I just can't remember what it was. We might as well look together, right? No sense in trying it all alone. Besides, I can be a pretty helpful ally, I've been known to lift men over my head." Nesmine offered, hoping to strike another deal with Koraro, as traveling together with a person who understood the world would be a great benefit.

Kotaro thought over her offer. This was not only interesting, it was now a moment of oppurtunity. This girl who had asked to stay in his store in exchange for work was offering to help him find his sister. But then there was the thing she was looking for. How could she find it if she didn't know what it was. Also....she couldn't read?
"Deal." He said with a smile. "I'll teach you to read if you help me find her. And I'll help you find whatever your looking for."

"Thanks, I know it's an odd thing, to be looking for something, only to not know what it is. I just have a feeling that when I find it, I'll know. Have you ever felt like that?" Nesmine asked, her strange green eyes flickering as if they belonged to a cat. She couldn't hide the smile she wore, as she was rather excited, not only did she have a place to stay, but she also had a traveling companion, two if you count the mouse.
Letting out a comfortable sigh, she resumed polishing the knives, and started to sharpen them with a special stone she kept in her pocket. "So who is this girl anyway? Is she special to you? Why'd you loose her?" She asked, full of curiosity, forgetting that it was rude to pry.
